Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2014/st1407.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== Signa Charbonnet Coiron Van Kirk, daughter of the late Jean Francois Charbonnet and Blanche de la Vasselais Charbonnet, and sister of the late Jean Francois Charbonnet Jr. died July 1, 2014 at Christwood Retirement Community in Covington. Louisiana. She was 88. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, George Alfred Coiron Jr. and is survived by her five children, George ÒJackÓ A. Coiron Jr. (Mara), Michele Coiron Swartz (Jesse), Signa ÒSisiÓ Coiron Lamothe (Frank), John Joseph Coiron (Carol), Pierre Denis de la Ronde Coiron (Julie), and her six grandchildren Christopher Peller, George A. Coiron IV, Peter, Paul, Paige and Piper Coiron. Signa is also survived by the seven children of her second recently deceased husband Frank W. Van Kirk, Jr., known as Bill, and father of Kathleen Van Kirk, Jay Van Kirk (Lois), William Van Kirk (Jamie), Mark Van Kirk (Alice), Yvonne Van Kirk, Evan Van Kirk (Melia) and Timothy Van Kirk (Julie), his 23 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. SignaÕs late husband George and BillÕs late first wife Marie Stouse were first cousins; therefore, all twelve children of Signa and Bill are second cousins. Only in New Orleans! Signa was a graduate of the Isidore Newman School and attended Sophie Newcomb College where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. She was also a member of the Junior League of New Orleans. Prior to retiring to Sea Island, Georgia with her husband George, she spent many active years in the New Orleans real estate market which was her passion. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service and reception at Christwood ,100 Christwood Blvd., Covington, LA 70433 on Monday, July 7 at 11:30am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the charity of your choice or St. AnselmÕs Catholic Church of Madisonville. ===================
