HOSCH, DONALD J., JR.
December 10, 1936 - August 12, 2014

Donald Joseph Hosch, Sr. passed peacefully in the loving arms of his beloved 
wife, Martha Jane Noble Schwabe Hosch on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at the age of 
77 years eight months and two days. 
He was born on December 10, 1936, in New Orleans, LA, and has been a resident 
of Covington, LA since 1991.

Don was the loving son of his predeceased parents, Henry William Hosch II and 
Florence Doyle Hosch and by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James Noble 
and Dottie Noble. 
He was also preceded in death by his two older brothers, William Henry Hosch 
III and Clarence Gerard Hosch, his sister Doris Hosch Gabriel, two sons Ronald 
and Michael Hosch, his niece Nancy Virginia Elmer, his sisters-in-law, Audrey 
Hosch, Sherril Hosch, and brother-in-law, Sonny Waguespack.

Don was married to his beloved wife, Martha, for 39 years, 6 months and 12 days 
and was father to Donald J. Hosch, Jr. (Iva) and Gary V. Schwabe, Jr. He is 
also survived by his daughter-in-law Lisa Marie Callia Schwabe and his 
cherished grandchildren Rebecca Ann Schwabe and James Noble Schwabe; his 
sister-in-law, Sallie Noble Elmer; nieces Martha Elmer Hurley and JoAnn Elmer 
Adkins, along with their husbands Kris Hurley and Bill Adkins; and great-niece 
Dottie Adkins. Don is the brother of Carolyn Hosch Reed, husband Donald, 
Lorraine Hosch Waguespack and Roland Hosch.

Don attended Saint Joseph Elementary, McDonogh #11, and Warren Easton High 
School. He also proudly served his country in the US Army from 1957-1963. A 
member of the HQ Co, 1st Medium Tank Battalion, 37th Armor, he was stationed in 
Germany, Texas, Arkansas, and New Jersey. Don was a marine surveyor with World 
Marine Associates, Inc for 24 years and was regional manager for Louisiana, 
Mississippi, and Alabama. He ended his career with Boasso America Corporation 
and belonged to both the Traffic Club and Propeller Club of New Orleans.

DonÕs wish was that all of his extended family, neighbors, friends, and 
coworkers remember him in good health with a smile on his face. 

Services were private and closed.

The family wishes to acknowledge the outstanding care provided by St. Tammany 
Hospice. Special recognition should be given to his four ÒangelsÓÑnurses Susan 
Tufts, Ann Warner, Alden Adams, and Donna Berbling, and the full staff, headed 
by, Paula Toups, Patty Green, and Deacon Louis Ogle.
