She was born August 1, 1922 (age 92) in Tulsa, OK to the late Augusta Lauterbach Babin and Thomas Joseph Babin. Beloved wife of 70 years to the late James “Harold” Digby, Sr. Loving mother of Dianne Digby Perret Ramsey (Ozzie) of Mandeville and Hot Springs Village, Arkansas and James Harold Digby, Jr. of Mandeville, LA. Grandmother of Monique Pellegrin (Jim) of Kenner, Stacy G. Perret of Geismar, LA, Sean and Allen Digby of Ft. Meyers, FL and Sable A.D. Lambert of Madisonville, LA. Great-grandmother of Logan Perret, Hailee and Jenna Pellegrin and Zander Cole Lambert and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Digby was a lifelong resident of the New Orleans area, and of Beau Chene in Mandeville for the last forty years with a three year residency at Sunrise of Metairie Assisted Living. Mrs. Digby supported her husband and country stateside during World War II and where they both later volunteered at the WW II Museum. She was a former employee of Maison Blanche and retired after thirty-six years from the fitness industry partnering with Jenny Craig in Healthletic Fitness Center. She was a member of the Beau Chene Country Club and their Golf and Tennis programs, Franco’s Athletic Club, the VFW and Lion’s Club Ladies Auxillaries, Beta Beta Sorority, two bridge clubs and the Let’s Dance Club. She loved adventure, traveled extensively and cruised the world while dancing through life with her sweetheart and together they were known as the “Dancing Digby’s”. The family wishes to thank the staff, nurses and care partners of Beau Provence Assisted Living of Mandeville for their professional expertise, compassion and respect for the grace and dignity they bestowed upon our mother/grandmother for which she so richly deserved in her time of special needs. We would also like to thank Lakeshore Hospice for their care and concern and attention in her final days. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 11:00 AM with visitation on Saturday beginning at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. Donations in memory of Mrs. Digby may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. ===================
