Stephen is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol Ann Hinman, his brother, Stanley Hinman, daughters Elizabeth and Alice (Jon), sons Michael (Lisa) and David (Sharon), grandchildren Crystal, Melissa, Philip, Shawn (Victoria), Claire, Kaeley, Carly, Tristan, Michael and Ian and great-grandchildren Aliya, Laken and Brody. He is preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Mangan, father, Gage Justus Hinman, his sister, Shirley Compher, and half-brother Al Mangan. Stephen was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was a native of Quincy California and grew up in Oakland, California. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was present on the USS Bairoko for the first H-Bomb test at the Bikini Atoll. After graduating from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelors degree, he worked for more than 30 years as a pharmaceutical salesman and manager. He was a member at various times of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, St. Vincent de Paul Society, and officer of the local WBCCI Airstream Club unit and the national USS Bairoko Association. The family wishes to thank Scott Weaver and Lisa Hinman with Guardian Home Health as well as Dr. Jack Saux and the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center for their kindness in caring for Stephen in his last years. Services will be held Tuesday, December 2nd at EJ Fielding Funeral Home in Covington, Louisiana with visitation at 11 am and mass at noon. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, 1203 S. Tyler Street, Covington, Louisiana 70433. US Navy ===================
