She was born on Friday, September 15, 1944 in Sneads, FL to Ruby Crews and Fred Barfoot and lived in St. Bernard Parish for over 40 years before moving to Covington in 2006. The love of his life and beloved wife of Richard R. Mussachia, Sr. for 50 years, she is survived by two daughters – Jo Lynn M. Marino (Mark) and Nicki M. Donnelly (Michael); one son - Richard R. Mussachia, Jr. (Carol); six grandchildren - Stephanie M. Couret (Robert), Tony Marino, Katelyn and Patrick Donnelly, Taylor and Tyler Mussachia; one great grandson - Caden Couret; one sister - Judith Brannon (Ernie); one brother - George McDowell (Wilma) and her aunt - Joyce Thienes (Gus). She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother - James "Buddy" McDowell. Betty loved life and lived for time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandson. She and her husband were always together. Preparing their house to host the holidays, cheering for their Saints and trips to the casino were some of her favorite pastimes. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433. Visiting hours on Wednesday will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington, LA will immediately follow mass. ===================
