Eligious " Lee " Mary Hemelt, age 87, passed away at her home on Saturday, 
December 13, 2014.

A native of New Orleans, LA. and resident of Covington, LA. for the past 25 
years where she was a parishioner of St. Peter Catholic Church.

Beloved wife of 65 years to Leo R. Hemelt, Sr. Mother of Leo Hemelt, Jr. 
(Peggy), Dennis Hemelt, Eligious " Elly " Wunsch (Gary), Ronald Hemelt, Sr. 
(Barbara), Rhonda Aubert (Chris). 

She was preceded in death by baby daughter Phyllis Hemelt and parents: Leon 
Smith, Sr. and Mae Sendker Smith and a brother, Alvin Smith.

She is also survived by her sisters; Joycelin Couvillon and Bernadette Wolff 
and a brother Leon Smith, Jr. She was the grandmother to 18 grandchildren and 
16 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Kaycee Ladies of #714, H2U at Lakeview Regional Medical 
Center and the Red Hat Society of Covington.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at E. J. Fielding 
Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Ave., Covington, La 70433 on Wednesday December 17 
from 6pm to 9pm and on Thursday, December 18 from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM 
followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Peter Catholic Church, 125 E. 19th Ave., 
Covington, LA. 70433 at 12:00 Noon.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Abbey Cemetery, 75376 River Road, 
Covington, LA. 70433
