Vera Shirley Rose Stecher Ianni passed away on Monday, December 22, 2014 
surrounded by her family at home in Covington, LA. 
She was born on October 28, 1923 in New Orleans, LA to the late Joseph G. 
Stecher and Rose Marie Christina Stecher.

She married the love of her life Carmelo “Emile” Ianni, in 1959, and has been 
widowed for 32 years. Together, they had two children, Emile P. Ianni 
(Andrea’), Rose I. Beau (Eddie). She was the loving grandmother of Julianna and 
Blake Ianni, and Amanda, Emily and Allison Beau.

Vera lived a very vibrant 91 years. She was employed at Western Union Telegraph 
Company during World War II and remained there for 30 years. She loved to cook 
for her family and for others. Her greatest joy was her children and 
grandchildren. Vera had a true mother’s heart and will be deeply missed. The 
family wishes to extend thanks to her caretakers, Denise Plaisance and Dina 
Cornu, and Lakeshore Hospice for their gentle and loving care.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on 
Friday, December 26, 2014 at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 4465 Hwy 190 
East Service Rd., Covington, LA 70433, at 12:00 Noon with Visitation from 10:00 
AM until service time. 

Interment will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery, New Orleans, LA. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hospice 
Foundation of the South,
