He passed peacefully in his home surrounded by his family. Charles was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Monroe and May Rita Hecker Porter on July 29, 1943. He was a dedicated family man. Charles is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia Hagan Porter; his children, Monroe( ML ) Porter( spouse Kristen ) and Bridget Porter ( spouse Keith Metz ); his grand-children, Colton and Brittany Porter and Nicholas and Connor Metz. Charles is also survived by his sisters, Marilyn Porter Matar and Sandra Porter Carnaggio. Charles is pre-deceased by his brother, Armond Porter and his sister, Eileen Porter Taix. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service, at St. Benedict’s Church located at 20370 Smith Road, Covington, LA 70435 on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, 1203 S. Tyler Street, Covington, LA 70433, who lovingly cared for Charles.
