He was born on July 8, 1940 in Alexandria, LA to Mildred and Clifton Bigner and grew up in Pollock, LA. He received his undergraduate degree in Animal Husbandry in 1962 from USL in Lafayette and an M.S. Degree in Food Science and Technology from LSU in 1965. His career as a Food Technologist began with General Foods in Dover, DE and continued in Texas for the next 20 years. He worked at Frito Lay in both Irving and Houston, where he created Funyuns, HEB in Corpus Christi and Rotel in McAllen. He moved his family back to Louisiana in 1985 to work at Zatarain's. He has lived in Folsom since 1999. He was an avid LSU and Saints fan, and enjoyed golfing, gardening, football, traveling, and most of all, his family. George was the beloved husband of Bonnie Higginbotham Bigner for 51 years. He is survived by three children; two daughters - Tracy Kay Bigner Knutsen (Bill) and Marnie Elizabeth Bigner George (Chris); one son - Wade Robert Bigner (Renee); his sister – Sarah Ann Bigner Kaser (Walt) and five grandchildren - Olivia Bigner, Mitchell and Cierra George, and Wyatt and Blake Bigner. His parents preceded him in death. Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial services at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 30, 2015 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433. Visiting hours on Friday will begin at 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to A Child's Wish of Louisiana, 608 Clearview Parkway, Metairie, Louisiana. ===================
