He was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Covington for the past 15 years. Eddie was a retired fireman with the NOFD. He enjoyed woodworking, caring for his yard, a good game of cards and RV travel. Memories of his mischievousness, fighting spirit and generosity of self will be treasured. Beloved husband of 55 years to the late Audrey Crocker Cones. Loving father of Lynn Hudzik (Thomas), Kathryn Mount (David), Beth Cones and Victorine Owens. Mr. Cones will be dearly missed by his seven grandchildren, Donald, Patrick, Stephen, Benjamin, Nicholas, Anna and Jonathan. He was the son of the late Mabel Babin Duby and Edward Earl Cones, Jr. Brother of Philip Duby (Cindy), Raymond Duby, Theresa Chelette (Billy) and the late Ann Meredith (Hollis). Brother-in-law of Helen Bergeron (Richard), Betty Archer (the late William, Sr.), Geralyn Feliu (Glenn), the late Frank Crocker, Jr., and Donald Crocker, Sr. (Marian). Eddie is also survived by a dear friend, Grace Huffman. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral Mass on Friday January 23, 2015 at 12:00 noon at St. Jane de Chantal Catholic Church, 72040 Maple St., Abita Springs, LA 70420 with visitation at church from 10:00 AM until Mass. Interment in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens will be private. In lieu of flowers, Masses are preferred or contributions in memory of Mr. Cones to your personal favorite charity. ===================
