Elizabeth Kay Files passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at the age of 73.

Beloved wife of 50 years to Mark W. Files. Loving mother of Patrick M. Files 
(McLaurin) of Chicago and Jennifer-Leigh W. Files. 

Daughter of the late Marjorie and James Maltby. Sister of Mary Leigh Bradley of 
Muskogee, OK. Grandmother of Margaret Elizabeth and Annelise Caitlin Files.

Born and raised in Bartlesville, OK, Kay Files graduated top of her class from 
The University of Oklahoma and subsequently received a Masters of Fine Arts 
from the University of New Orleans. She was a member Chi Omega sorority. 
Involved in theatre throughout her life, Kay taught theatre at Loyola and 
Southeastern Louisiana University where she was beloved by her students.

A resident of Covington since 1981, she was very involved with Playmakers 
Theatre where she continued to have a positive influence on the theatre 
community. 

Kay was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial services at E.J. 
Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, 
January 31, 2015 at 1:00 PM with visitation on Saturday beginning at 12:00 
noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation in memory of Mrs. Files to be 
made to Playmakers Theatre.
