Son of George W. Hastings and Rose Michel Hastings. Beloved husband of Norma A. Hastings. Father of two children: Michael Hastings of Perkinston, Mississippi and Susan Hastings Secord (Mark) of Pettus, Texas. Two step daughters, Rene Albert Weising (Christopher) of Orlando, Florida and Vanessa Albert Rudd (Howard) of Pt. Pleasant Beach, New Jersey. Also, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Born, raised and educated in New Orleans, Louisiana, lived in Eden Isles, Slidell, Louisiana and moved to Flower Mound Texas in 2006. Veteran of the Marine Corp Engineer School Battalion, employed by Lockheed Martin, as a construction engineering supervisor, retired in 1998 and Boeing Aerospace, both at Michoud facility. Recipient of Silver Snoopy award from Lockheed Martin and Honoree of NASA Space Flight Awareness Launch- STS-76. It was NASA’s 76th Space Shuttle mission, and the 16th mission for Atlantis. STS-76 launched on 22 March 1996 at 3:13 am EST (UTC-5) from Kennedy Space Center Launch pad 39B (and numerous other awards during his employment at Michoud. Former President of American Institution of Plant Engineers (AIPE), Louisiana chapter. Recipient of the Order of St. Louis IXS Medallion award from the Archdiocese of New Orleans, LA in 2005 presented by Most Reverend Alfred C. Hughes, Archbishop of New Orleans and St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, Slidell, LA appreciation ward in 1999. Past member of the Krewe of the Bilge, Eden Isles, LA, Parishioner of St. Philip Catholic Church, Lewisville, Texas.
