Park, age 81, died on January 29, 2015 in St. Tammany Hospital, Covington, LA. Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Josie B. Park of Shreveport, LA and his father, John H. Park, Sr., of Columbia, SC. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Teresita (Tootsie) Williams Park and four children: Christina Delgado (Jose) of Baton Rouge, LA; Marilyn Park (Robert Loderstedt) of Ashburn, VA; Denise Anding (Jeff) of Kingwood, TX; and Michael Park (Carolyn) of Midlothian, VA. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Lauren Delgado Garrett (Gaines) Alex Delgado, Anna Roberts, Daniel Roberts, James Anding, Madeline Anding, Abigail Park and Thomas Park. He is survived by one brother, Dr. John H. Park (Carolyn) of Euless, TX, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Joe was born in Columbia, SC and moved to Shreveport, LA in 1946. He graduated from St. John Berchman’s Prep School in Shreveport in 1951 and from Loyola University in New Orleans in 1955 with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with a major in Accounting. He was a member of Beggars Social Fraternity at Loyola. On graduation, he joined the CPA firm of Arthur Andersen & Co. in Houston, TX. Between 1956 and 1958, Joe served in the U.S. Army and returned to Houston after his discharge. He obtained his Texas CPA certificate in 1959. At the Firm’s request, Joe transferred to Arthur Andersen’s New Orleans office in 1960. He was admitted to the Firm’s Partnership in 1970 and at the Firm’s request transferred to the Washington, D.C. office in 1973. He took early retirement from the Andersen partnership in 1984 and moved with Tootsie to Gulfport, MS. While living in Gulfport, he consulted on projects for various companies, including Arthur Andersen. In 1997, he and Tootsie moved to Mandeville, LA where he resided at the time of his death. 1997 was also the year that Joe attended his first silent retreat at Manresa. The same group of men met faithfully every year and Joe never missed the opportunity. Joe was involved as a volunteer with various Church and charitable organizations. In McLean, VA, he was Chairman of the St. Luke Catholic Church’s Finance Committee and served as a lecturer and Eucharist Minister at the Church. He was very active in the Northern Virginia Cursillo Community. He was also on the Greater Washington, DC United Way Fund’s Allocation Committee and was a member of The Krewe of Louisianans (Washington, DC). He was a former member of the Samaritan Center’s Finance Committee in Mandeville. He has served on the Audit Sub-Committee of the Archdiocese of New Orleans’ Finance Counsel since its inception in 2002. He was also on the Finance Council of Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Mandeville. Joe was an active member in Mary Queen of Peace’s Knights of Columbus Council #12072 and the Rev. Harry W. Tompson, S.J. Assembly #2922. He’s a Past Faithful Navigator of the Deacon James M. Seghers, Sr. Assembly #2467. Joe was an original Saints season ticket holder, a former member of Bacchus and a member of the Gulfport Yacht Club. One of his favorite pastimes was going on cruises with Tootsie. There will be a Funeral Mass at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1501 West Causeway Approach in Mandeville at 12 noon on Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Visitation will be held at the Church from 10 a.m. until Mass time. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Abbey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Mary Queen of Peace Building Fund or to the Jesuits of the New Orleans Province. U.S. Army ===================
