Catherine Hammill Skelton passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 in Covington, 
LA. She was born on January 29, 1915 in New Orleans, LA to the late John 
Hammill and Lucille Ganter Hammill.

Catherine was married to her beloved husband, the late E. Byron Skelton, and 
together they had three children, Henrietta S. Galloway, Ed R. Skelton, the 
late William R. Skelton and, step-daughter Jeanne Mayernik. She leaves behind 
four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and three great great 
grandchildren. Catherine was the sister of the late John Hammill, Joseph 
Hammill, and Cecelia Natal.

Catherine was a legal secretary in Covington for Dalton Barranger and for the 
law firm that later became Jones Fussell.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service 
on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st 
Ave., Covington, LA 70433, at 2:00 PM with Visitation from 12:00 Noon until 
service time. 

Interment will follow the service at Garden of the Pines Cemetery, Covington, 
LA.
