He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Naomi Coffey Dufresne, daughter, Sandra D. Patrick, sons Andrew L. Dufresne, III and Ronald E. Dufresne (Rebecca): grandchildren, Brad Patrick, Erin P. Waite(Mark), Nicholas, Trevor, Remy, Acey and Shay Lu Dufresne; great granddaughter Charlotte Waite; sister, Hilda Calhoun, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was the son of the late Andrew L. Dufresne, Sr., and Ophelia Borne Dufresne. A native and former resident of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Slidell. He left high school at age 17 to join the Navy at the beginning of WWII and served aboard the destroyer USS Landsdowne, which carried the Japanese dignitaries out to the USS Missouri to sign the Japanese surrender of WWII. He served on the New Orleans Fire Department for 25 years, retiring as a District Chief in 1976. He was a loving husband and devoted father and will be missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. Interment in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY. Visitation on Saturday after 9:00 A.M. until funeral time. Donations to New Orleans Fire Fighters Assn.
