He was born on March 22, 1931 in Sumner, Mississippi and grew up in nearby Clarksdale where he graduated from high school in 1949. His parents were Ben and Marie Miley. His sister, Frances Miley Kelso, predeceased him. Bob will be missed by his loving family and many friends. Bob and Mildred were blessed with three children, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Their daughter Lisa Geary (husband Cove) and three grandchildren (Claire, Caroline, Cove Jr.) live in Mandeville. Daughter, Sandra Miley, lives in Mandeville. Son, Jim (wife Sue) and three Miley grandchildren (Rachel, Katie and James III) and great-granddaughter (Addison Grace Miley) live in Prairieville, LA. Bob was an alumnus of Ole Miss where he received a BBA in 1953 and an MBA in 1954. While at Ole Miss, he was treasurer of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He was also selected by Beta Gamma Sigma, Beta Alpha Psi and Arnold Air Society honor organizations. Following college, Bob served two years as a lieutenant with the USAF Auditor General stationed at Edwards Air Force Base, CA. Upon release from Air Force active duty, Bob met Mildred O’Quinn in Clarksdale, MS. Bob and Mildred married in the fall of 1956 after Bob had accepted a position as Staff Accountant with Arthur Anderson & Co in Houston. In 1958 Bob and Mildred moved to New Orleans with Arthur Anderson. In 1966 Bob became an Anderson Partner and headed the New Orleans Tax Department from 1966 to 1975. Bob was a member of the Anderson Firmwide Oil & Gas Indsustry Team until his retirement in 1990. Bob was active in several professional organizations including LA Society of CPA’s, N.O. Estate Planning Council and Tulane Tax Institute. In 1990, The University of Mississippi Accountancy School named Bob a member of the “Hall of Fame”. Bob served as an elder at John Calvin Presbyterian Church in Metairie and New Covenant Presbyterian Church in Mandeville. Bob enjoyed golf and fishing and many days at the family beach house on Ono Island, AL. Bob was a member of Metairie Country Club for many years and Beau Chene Country Club after retirement. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial services at New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 4375 Hwy 22, Mandeville, LA 70471 on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM with visitation at church on Monday beginning at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation in memory of Mr. Miley to be made to New Covenant Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice. US Air Force ===================
