Colonel Retired, passed away on the morning of February 24, 2015 in Covington, Louisiana at the age of 92. Born November 22, 1922, Jack is a native of Long Beach, Mississippi and a long- standing member if the Covington community. He was the beloved husband of Kathryn Burleson Mincher, loving father of Laura Mincher Hamlin, Lawrence Gordon Mincher and Thomas Richard Mincher, Son of the late Lillie Taylor Mincher and George Albert Mincher, Grandfather of Ashley Hamlin, Amanda Hamlin, Katie Hamlin-Pacheco, Joshua Mincher and Kelly Mincher Richard. Great-grandfather of Jackson Mincher. Jack is a World War II veteran and a hero to both country and family. He served in both France and Germany, crossing the English Channel with Patton’s Third Army. While World War II defined Jack’s life, he defined the lives of three children and five grandchildren as a remarkable, loving family man. He will be remembered not only as an American hero, but also as a valued member of the Long Beach, Mississippi and Covington, Louisiana communities and as a cherished family man who dedicated his life to making sure his family was loved and provided for. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the graveside service in Biloxi National Cemetery, 400 Veterans Ave., Biloxi, Ms on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 10:00 AM.
