He was 75 years old. He is survived by his loving wife, Darleen, and children, Clifton, Otis and Kirsten, Andrew and Lisa, Ann, and Mary, and his beloved grandchildren, Otis, Felicity, Theodore “Teddy”, Cecily, and Elise. He is also survived by his sisters, Jeanne MacDonald of Atlanta, GA, and Patricia Steinbronn of Murphy, NC, and his mother-in-law, Gloria Ronzello. He is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas “Tuck”, and his son-in-law, Michael. John was born in Washington, DC on February 5, 1940. He received mechanical engineering degrees from Purdue University. He took time away from his studies to attend flight school with the US Marines in Pensacola, FL. Following his graduation from Purdue, he worked on the engines for the Saturn 5 rocket in Huntsville, AL. He then went on to work for 30 years for the DuPont de Nemours Company. Following his retirement, John and Darleen relocated from Wilmington, DE to Covington, LA to live closer to their family. During his retirement, he served the community as the president for his civic and condominium home owners associations. He was devoted member of the St. Peter Catholic Church community. John also had a great passion for genealogy, history, and sports, most notably, the Philadelphia Eagles. Most of all, John will be remembered as being a generous, supportive, loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, son-in-law, and uncle. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 125 E 19th Ave, Covington, LA 70433, at 11 AM. A Wake will take place on Tuesday, 24, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Visitation at Church on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 will be from 10:00 AM until Mass time. Interment will follow the Mass at St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery, 75376 River Rd, St Benedict, LA ===================
