Rita Buisson Burleson passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015 in New Roads, LA. 

She was born on June 30, 1919 in New Orleans, LA to the late Emile Buisson and 
Jouhan Abney Buisson.

Rita was married to her beloved husband, the late Earl Burleson, for 61 years 
and together they had five children, Earl J. Burleson, Fay B. Payne, Jan 
Burleson (Nancy), the late Jeanne Peterson, and Rene Burleson. She leaves 
behind 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Rita was the sister of the 
late Emile Buisson, Jr., Melba B. DiMaio, and Leona B. Wolkart.

Rita was a loving mother and devoted her life to raising her family.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on 
Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., 
Covington, LA 70433, at 2:00 PM with Visitation from 1:00 PM until service 
time. 

Interment will follow the Mass at the Abita Springs City Cemetery, Abita 
Springs, LA.
