She was the beloved wife of Robert Lipscomb and the loving mother of their children, Rachel and James. She was the daughter of Claudine Church Boland and the late James Albert Boland of Mobile, Alabama. She leaves behind two brothers; Mark Boland and Scott Boland. Marianne was born in Mobile, Alabama where she graduated with a degree in History from the University of South Alabama. She worked as a high school teacher for years before changing careers to focus on interior design. She was the owner of Marianne Lipscomb Interiors and is known for her work in residential and commercial interiors throughout the Gulf South. Marianne and Bobby began their life and family together in uptown New Orleans. They moved to Mandeville prior to Katrina and were soon taken by its culture and beauty. Marianne, always a gracious host and great cook, opened her home lovingly to family, friends and children. She will long be remembered for her charm, wit, generosity and good taste. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends including all of the Boland family, Lipscomb family, members of the Pontchartrain Yacht Club and many neighbors in Mandeville. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Marianne’s life at the Pontchartrain Yacht Club, 140 Jackson Street, Mandeville, LA 70448 on Friday, March 20, 2015 with a gathering on Friday beginning at 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM with a remembrance at 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Marianne be made to Greenpeace, 702 H Street NW, Suite 300, Washington, D.C. 20001. ===================
