He was surrounded with loved ones and left this world peacefully just as his favorite prayer, The Divine Mercy Chaplet, came to an end. Michael graduated in 1981 from Loyola Law School in New Orleans and worked for Sadler Law since 2008, specializing in oil and gas title research. Prior to that, Mike was a sole practitioner doing estate work in New Orleans until the family relocated to Texas following Hurricane Katrina. Michael had a completely different way of looking at life. No day was a bad day and every new person was simply a friend he not yet come to know and there was no one to whom he would not offer to help to the full extent of his ability. An active member of Knights of Columbus Council 4204, Michael was a Fourth Degree Knight. He volunteered for several positions with both the Council and the Columbus Club. An active volunteer in the homeschooling community, Michael taught several classes over the years and worked hard to establish social activities for the teens. He had a lifelong passion for trains and was active in various organizations for many years including Crescent City Model Railroad in New Orleans, Louisiana and the Mississippi Valley Railway Museum in Port Bienville, Mississippi. He also loved to garden and especially tended to his beautiful roses and thriving butterfly gardens. Michael also cared deeply for animals of all kinds, helped to rescue many homeless pets, and had a deep and abiding love for his medical alert dog, Dixiebelle. Michael was predeceased by his parents, James G. Mulé and Geraldine Hammer Mulé, as well as by his brother, James G. Mulé, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Susan Glynn Mulé, his daughter, Elizabeth Alice Mulé, and his paternal aunt, Nina Mulé Hymel. Cremation was performed by Claire Brothers Funeral Home in Houston. A Memorial Mass is being held at St. Laurence Catholic Church, 3100 Sweetwater Blvd, Sugar Land, TX 77479 on Friday, March 20, 2015 at 10:00 am, followed by a reception given to him by the Knights at the KC Hall, 702 Burney Rd, Sugar Land, TX 77498. Services in Louisiana will be held E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, March 28, 2015 with visitation beginning at 10:00 am and a Mass at noon. Interment of his ashes will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens adjacent to the funeral home. Overwhelmed by the outpouring of support during Michael’s illness, the family is deeply indebted to all of those who assisted them during this time. There are far too many individuals to name, but the family is particularly indebted to Joanna Valliere, Randy Sadler, Jill Jollay, Fr. Drew Wood, Fr. Tom Hawxhurst, Michael’s friends and neighbors in the Chimneystone Community, KC Council 4204, the members of Catholic DITD Parents, the Colon Cancer Alliance, and The Dream Foundation. The family is also incredibly grateful for the remarkable medical care he received from Surgery Associates of Houston, Texas Oncology, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, and Silverado Hospice. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Texas Oncology Foundation, 12221 Merit Drive, Suite 500, Dallas, Texas 75251; Silverado Hospice, 6400 Oak Canyon, Suite 200, Irvine, CA; The Dream Foundation, 1528 Chapala St # 304, Santa Barbara, CA 93101; or The Knights of Columbus Council 4204, 702 Burney Rd, Sugar Land, TX 77498. ===================
