Reginald Peter Schneider, Jr. died at the age of 73 after a brave fight with 
pancreatic cancer on Monday, March 16, 2015. 

He died at home where his friends and family were able to express their love 
for him in his last days. He will be missed by many. 

He was born in Slidell on December 27, 1941 and was preceded in death by his 
parents Reggie and Audrey Schneider, long-time residents of Slidell.

Pete loved sports and the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and spent many joyful 
days at his hunting camp in Mississippi. He enjoyed gardening and shared his 
harvest with neighbors and friends.

Pete was mechanically inclined and a "fixer" by nature. This led him to a stint 
in the Air force where he learned avionics after which he joined the Louisiana 
National Guard. With his air force training he went to work for Delta Airlines 
moving from jobs in New Orleans and Atlanta and settling in Hawaii. He retired 
from Delta in 1987 and used his skills with several companies in the airline 
industry. Pete moved back to Slidell in 2008 creating a comfortable life for 
himself and his family.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Schneider, and daughters Susan Schneider 
Garrard, Pam Schneider Skekel and her husband Ron, Regina Schneider, and son, 
Henry James Schneider, and stepson, Michael Johnson and his wife Janice; 
sisters Barbara Schneider Freeman, Margaret Schneider; sister-in-law, Tuwe 
Suan; brother Bernard Schneider and his wife, Lynn. Grandchildren Jessie Slone, 
Shane Skekel, and Avery Garrard; and two great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services 
at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME,1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), 
Slidell, LA, on Tuesday, March 24, 2014 at 1:00 P.M.

Interment will follow in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY, Slidell, LA.

Visitation on Monday evening, March 23, 2015 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00P.M. and 
will resume Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 11:00A.M until 1:00 P.M.
