Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2015/st1504.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== Galyon, Emmet I.- born May 5, 1943 in Knoxville, Tennessee lost his battle with cancer Friday, April 24, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Arlene Pena, mother Ruth Salesman and step-father Charles Salesman. Emmet leaves behind daughters, Teresa Hernandez and Jennifer Dorion (Addam) and son Neil (Beth); grandchildren Pam Stevens (Claude), Michael Hernandez (Lauren), Kathryn Hernandez, Megan Hernandez, James Galyon, and Emma Dorion; great-grandchildren Austin and Zachary Paden, Hannah Hernandez, Isabella and Liam Stevens. He also leaves behind his brother Dwight Galyon and sister Verna Roane. Emmet was a veteran of the U.S. Army (1960-1963) where he received commendations for good conduct, expert (rifle) and sharpshooter. He served in Korea, and Fort Riley, Kansas. After returning to Louisiana he worked as a facilities supervisor for Martin Marietta and Lockheed Martin, from which he retired. Emmet will be interred at the Southeast Louisiana Veteran's Cemetery in Slidell alongside his beloved wife, Monday, May 4,2015 at 11:00 A.M.
