On Monday April 27, 2015 Gerard Joseph Hobden age 63 of Slidell, LA passed 
away. 

He was preceded in death by his father, James Frank Hobden and his mother, 
Lorraine Catherine Zinser Hobden. 

He is survived by his wife of 25 yrs Eileen Hobden, children Lora Poret 
Matherne (Tim), David Poret (Collene), Richard Poret, Rebekah Poret Carthen, 
and Dennis Poret (Cortney), his brothers James Frank Hobden Jr. (Bonnie), 
Jeffery Andre Hobden (Xiaowen), and Alan John Hobden, sisters Lorraine Marie 
Hobden-Weathers and Susan Hobden Steward , 24 grand children, 7 great 
grandchildren, nieces Melanie, Catherine, and Rebecca Hobden, Heather Hobden-
Weathers Chaffin (Jason), and Monica Steward. 

Jerry “Big Foot” Hobden worked 34 years with the Orleans Parish School Board in 
the Maintenance Department as an Equipment Repairman III before retiring after 
Hurricane Katrina. Over the past few years he worked for Lowe’s, Cracker Barrel 
Old Country Store #138 and Wal-Mart on Airport Road in Slidell until his 
passing. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday May 2, 2015 from 10am to 12 pm at Calvary 
Baptist Church, Slidell, LA with Funeral starting at 12 noon. 

Interment to follow at Hickory Memorial Gardens Cemetery located at Williams 
Funeral Home 67525 Hwy 41 Pearl River, La
