Angie was born in Biedenkopf an der Lahn, Germany on January 13, 1949. She was the daughter of the late Gunther Gerhard and Brunhilde Annakaterina (Gebhard) Gillat. She leaves her memories to be cherished by her loving husband, Philip; daughter, Monique Nicole Werum and her husband Matthias of Gross Gerau, Germany; her grandchildren Conner and Mila Werum; brother, Gunther H. Gillat of Slidell, Louisiana; and many adoring nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Slidell, LA, Atlanta, GA, Dallas, TX, Columbia, SC and in Germany. Angie graduated from Berufschule Biedenkopf in 1966 and the family immigrated to Columbia IL in January 1967. Angie became 2nd Runner-Up in the Miss Illinois Pageant in 1968. She worked for Sun Airlines in St. Louis and Brentwood Travel in Brentwood, MO. Angie married Philip Arthur Therrien December 27, 1969 in Columbia, IL. After moving to Ballwin, MO in 1971, her husband was transferred to Denver, CO where she worked at Lakewood Travel. In 1974 they moved to Cocoa Beach, FL and then to Slidell, LA in August 1975. Angie worked in the travel industry for many years and opened Slidell Travel Services, Slidell, LA in 1976. She was a member of the Foreign Born Wives Club, Slidell Women’s Civic Club, and the Domino Dolls Marching Club. Angie also hosted a German music hour on a local radio station, and was a Maid in the Krewe De La Boutte Dominique. Angie's many travels included most of Europe, the United States, Mexico, South America, and the Caribbean. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME, 1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA, on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 1:00 P.M.
