She was born on September 20, 1938 in New Orleans, LA to the late Presley Nelms Soniat and Blossom Plumly Soniat. Sandra was married to the late Thomas Pradel Quaid. She was the loving mother of three children, Michael S. Quaid, Mimi Quaid Todd (Bill), and Catherine Quaid Rohr (Adam). Sandra was the proud grandmother of Aidan M. Quaid. She was the sister of the late Judith Moore Soniat and aunt of Joseph Viverito, III. Sandra was a kind and caring soul, always willing to serve her Lord and Savior Christ Jesus in any way she could. Sandra volunteered her time and energy to many individuals and organizations. Serving as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, she spent many hours administering the Eucharist and praying with the elderly and those unable to attend Mass in the St. Anselm community. Sandra graduated from Holy Name of Jesus High School in New Orleans. She was a former member of the St. Clement of Rome guitar group, playing and singing during Mass on Sundays. A retired realtor with Latter and Blum, Sandra took up jewelry making as a hobby and became known for her creative designs and loved to make customized necklaces. She loved growing flowers and gardening. An avid “birder”, her backyard was a peaceful place for thought and reflection. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Monday, May 4, 2015 at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 306 St Mary St, Madisonville, LA 70447, at 12:00 Noon with Visitation from 10:00 AM until service time.
