MYRTLE A. COGNEVICH, 83, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015, 
at Slidell Memorial Hospital.

Mother of Keith Cognevich (Denise) and Kevin Cognevich;
Daughter of the late Courtney and Truie Jones. Sister of Duane Jones, Helen 
Johnson-Carpenter, Martha Johnson, and the late Alvin Jones and David Jones. 
Also survived by five grandchildren: Keri McAllister, Matthew Cognevich, Emily 
Cognevich, Kyle Cognevich, and Katherine Cognevich. 

She was preceded in death by one grandson: Brian Cognevich.

Myrtle Anita Cognevich lived a rewarding life surrounded by people who loved 
her. Her priority in life was her family, and she was devoted to them in every 
way. She was her grandchildren’s number one fan, attending every sporting 
event, recital, and ceremony. 

She enjoyed cooking for her family and brought them much laughter and joy. She 
loved Jesus and leaves behind a steadfast spiritual heritage. Myrtle Anita 
Cognevich was dedicated, loyal, and committed to the people she loved, and her 
legacy will live on through the hearts of those who loved her.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 29, at 7:00 PM at Northshore 
Church. Friends may visit at the church beginning at 6:00 PM.

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our 
Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful 
hope, comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say.
