He was born on March 16, 1929, in New Orleans, La., to the late Earle T. Ketchum and Phyla Wood Ketchum. Tom was married to his beloved wife, the late Betty Keating Ketchum, for 62 years, and together they had four children, Nancy K. Dupuy (Mike), Kathy Ketchum, Peggy K. Hayes (Ray) and the late Judith K. Baehr (Lloyd). He was the proud grandfather of Jason Dupuy (Melinda), Shelly Dupuy, Chrissy Dupuy, Abbie Hayes, and Tommy Hayes. Tom was the brother of Dawn K. Bosch (Bob). Tom grew up in Gentilly. He joined the Army in 1946 and was sent to Italy on a peacekeeping mission and served as a medic in an Army hospital. He attended Loyola University on the GI Bill and quickly set himself apart as the “big guy” on the Loyola Wolfpack basketball team. It was there that he met Betty; they married in 1952. He was a pharmaceutical salesman for G. D. Searle for many years. After his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed traveling and seeing much of our beautiful country. A private family graveside service was held at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, Covington, LA. If desired, the family requests that donations be made in the name of Thomas E. Ketchum to the National World War II Museum ===================
