She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert L. Mayfield, Sr. They began dating in high school and it is said you never saw one without the other. Phyllis, as she was known by most of her friends and family, leaves 3 children, Robert L. Mayfield, Jr.(Mississippi), Sandra Browning(Stan), (Idaho) and Scott Mayfield(Slidell). She is also blessed with 4 grandchildren, Brent Mayfield, Beau Bourgeois, Betsy Vaughn, Brandon Mayfield and 6 great grandchildren, Weston Mitchell, Jessie Lynn Vaughn, Ryan Vaughn, Cole Taylor, Adam Vaughn and Gauge Mayfield. Daughter of the late Archie Holden and Enola Pichon Holden. Sister of Yvette Fontenot, the late Troy C. and Kermit Holden. Phyllis retired from the St. Tammany Parish Register of Voters office and began an exciting life of travel to all but one of the United States with her husband driving the motor home as she navigated. They loved to square dance so when visiting all these different areas they would find the closest square dance club and dance with those square dancers in the area. She also loved camping at every opportunity. But mostly, she loved taking care of her great grandchildren who were her pride and joy. Phyllis will be missed by all her friends and family. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Services at First United Methodist Church, 433 Erlanger Avenue, Slidell, LA, 70458, on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. Donations to the charity of your choice, preferred, in lieu of flowers. ===================
