Yancey Silva Fernandes passed away with his family by his side on Tuesday, June 
16, 2015 at the age of 53.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Pinto Fernandes; his loving daughters, 
Kristy Vasquez (Roberto) and Misty Fernandes; his grandchildren Zachary 
Fernandes, Robert Fernandes, Anabell Vasquez, and Malayna Michel.  He is also 
survived by four siblings, Fernando Fernandes (Mary), Chauncey Fernandes 
(Betty), Gina Fernandes and Rosella Scalf (Travis) as well as his loving 
nephew, nieces and many other family members.

Yancey was born on January 31, 1962 in Waterbury, CT to Fernando Fernandes and 
Shirley Richardson Hicks who proceeded him in death. 
Yancey moved to Louisiana where he met his wife, Tammy, and later settled in 
Slidell, La.  He was employed with ADS Systems for 12 years.  He enjoyed 
traveling, camping, cooking, and destinations unknown with Tammy on their 
Harley.

Yancey was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather who loved 
spending time with his family.  He will be remembered for his generosity, 
caring soul, friendly nature and sense of humor.  

He will truly be missed by many.

Yancey will be cremated and his ashes scattered per his request.
