Harvey Love Foster, Jr. passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at the age of 83.

Beloved husband of Mary Lou Williams Foster. Loving father of Michael Harvey 
Foster, Susan Love Foster and Robert Hugh Foster. Son of the late Pearlie Lee 
Foster and Harvey Love Foster, Sr. Brother of Daniel Foster and Sadie Hite. 
Grandfather of Jessica Layne Whitfield, Aaron Earl Glaze, Angela Love Glaze and 
Ren Michael Foster. Great-grandfather of Alissa, Emelia, Samuel, Benjamin and 
Julianna.

Mr. Foster graduated from Delta State University with a science degree and 
teaching certifications and later earned a Master’s degree. He taught high 
school Chemistry, Physics and Biology along with coaching football, track, and 
girls basketball for fifteen years before moving into administration as a 
Principal and Assistant Superintendent in Sumner County, Tennessee. 

He also served in the Mississippi and Tennessee National Guards attaining the 
rank of Colonel. He was active in the Baptist church wherever he lived, singing 
in the choir, teaching Sunday School and serving as a Deacon. 

After moving to Louisiana, Harvey served on the Board of Directors of The 
Harvey L. Foster Foundation for Science Education, which is named in his honor 
and provides college scholarships to high school graduates pursuing college 
degrees in a scientific field.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. 
Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Wednesday, 
June 24, 2015 at 1:00 PM with visitation on Wednesday beginning at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mr. Foster to be 
made to the Harvey L. Foster Foundation for Science Education
