Daughter of the late Eola Blanche Ulmer and John Ernest Gubert. Mrs. Wells was born in New Orleans, LA and lived in Mandeville, LA for the past 15 years. Beloved wife of the late George P. Wells, Sr., she is survived by five children – G. Patrick Wells, Jr. (Lisa), Mark C. Wells (Gwen Murphy), Linda Wells Grefer (Greg), Donna Wells Loga (Bill) and Pamela Wells Clouatre (Keith Palmer); three sisters - JoAnn G. Newman, Jeannette G. Podgurski (Mike) and Linda G. Courtney; one brother - John A. Gubert; 13 grandchildren - Joshua Wells (Johanna), Erika Wells, Rachel Wells, Sarah Wells Patterson (Ray), Emily Wells, Amanda Wells, Grant Grefer, Gavin Grefer, Ashley Loga, Justin Loga, Miranda Loga, Madeline Clouatre and Brandon Clouatre; and one great granddaughter – Kaylie Wells. She was preceded in death by one grandson - Garrett J. Grefer; and one sister - Maria G. McCarthy. Mrs. Wells worked in the legal area of Security Homestead Association under council of Mr. Lee Grevemberg, Mr. Edmond (Pudgie) Miranne, Mr. Edmond Miranne, Jr. and Mr. Ira Middleberg for over 50 years. She was loving caretaker to her special needs grandson, Garrett. Jean was a completely selfless and giving mom, grandmother and true friend. She was loved by all. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass at St. Joseph Church, 1802 Tulane Avenue, New Orleans, LA on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 11:00am. Visitation will be at the church on Monday evening 6:00pm – 9:00pm and on Tuesday at 9:00am until time of service. Burial will be private.
