Harlean Jean Core passed away peacefully at home on Monday, July 13, 2015. 

She was born in Baton Rouge, LA on Wednesday, September 3, 1941 to Hazel Ard 
and Phillip Preston Davis, she grew up and graduated from high school in Big 
Sandy, TX.

The beloved wife of Gary Willie Core, she is survived by her daughter - Kim 
Core; one son - Gary W. Core, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Lisa Salter Core; one 
brother - Robert P. Davis; five grandchildren – Lacee C. Roth (Randy), Kristin, 
Kari, Caitlin and Trace Core and four great grandchildren – Leighton and Ty 
Roth, Harper and Kinley Johnson. Her parents preceded her in death.

She was an active member of Red Bluff Baptist Church, worked for years with the 
senior citizens, Girls in Action and children’s bible school. She supported the 
youth of St. Tammany Parish through her work with the FFA and 4-H programs.

Jean was a very giving person. One of her passions was to bring food to the 
elderly people in her community and church. Her greatest passion was her 
family. She devoted her life to her husband, children, grand children and 
great-grandchildren. Jean worked in the family business managing W. R. Core 
Construction and Lake Ramsey Campground.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at 11:00 AM on 
Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Red Bluff Baptist Church, 15204 Highway 1078 
Folsom, LA 70437.

A wake is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 6-9:00 PM at E.J. Fielding 
Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433.

Visiting hours at the church on Wednesday will begin at 9:00 AM.

Interment at the Allison Cemetery in Folsom will immediately follow services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Red Bluff Baptist Church.
