He was born on October 25, 1931 in New Orleans, LA to the late Wilfred Anthony Grusich, Sr. and Irma Catanzaro Grusich. Bill was married to his beloved wife, Carol Kreihs Grusich for 33 years. He will be missed by his children, Billy Grusich, Jr., III (Lois), Mary Claire Bagley (John), Leslie Tabony, Robin Guidroz (Jimmy), David Tabony (Deborah), René Tabony, and André Tabony (Marie). Bill was the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren. Bill was a member of the 1948 graduating class of Jesuit High School in New Orleans. He was seated as the youngest pilot of the Crescent River Port Pilots Association on September 20, 1957 until his retirement in August of 1996. He was a co-founder of the Maritime Navigation and Safety Association, a member of the Petroleum Club, The Plimsol Club, the Propeller Club and the Port Safety Council. Bill became a member of the Southern Yacht Club in 1947, where he reigned as King Neptune at the 2014 Bards of the Bilges Ball. Relatives and friends are invited to the Memorial Mass at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 10:00 AM until service time. A private reception will be held following Mass at the Southern Yacht Club, 105 N Roadway St, New Orleans, LA 70124. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name of Bill Grusich to Jesuit High School, www.jesuitnola.org/donate, or a charity of your choice. ===================
