LeBourgeois, age 79 of Mandeville, LA went peacefully to his eternal reward on Wednesday, July 01, 2015. Born, Friday, August 23, 1935 in New Orleans, LA to Joseph Charles LeBourgeois and Marie Delphine LeBourgeois. Survived by his two Sisters - Marguerite Jones, and Delphine Labranche (Frans), 17 nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his Father – Joseph Charles LeBourgeois, Sr., Mother - Marie Delphine LeBourgeois, two Brothers – J.C. LeBourgeois and George LeBourgeois. His elementary education was at Our Lady of the Rosary in New Orleans and his secondary and college education was at St. Joseph Seminary in St. Benedict, LA. Msgr. LeBourgeois attended Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans. He also attended the Institute on Matrimonial Jurisprudence at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. Msgr. LeBourgeois was ordained a priest on June 3, 1961 and was awards the Prelate of Honor on July 18, 1988. He served as Assistant at St. Charles Borromeo in Destrehan and St. Matthew the Apostle in New Orleans. He served as Temporary Administrator at St. Agnes in Jefferson, and was Co-Pastor at St. Matthew in Harrahan. His pastorates were at St. Peter in Reserve and St. Christopher the Martyr in Metairie. Msgr. LeBourgeois served as a Judge and Defender of the Bond in the Metropolitan Tribunal of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. In addition to his pastoral assignments, he served on the Board of Directors of the Clarion Herald, was the state Spiritual Director of the Catholic Knights of America, was the chaplain of the Archbishop John W. Shaw Council No. 2878 of the Knights of Columbus, and the Jefferson Parish Fire Department. He was also the Director ot the Kenner-Riverlands Deanery Vocation and Youth Programs. Msgr. LeBourgeois lived in Mandeville, LA until his death. Well done, good and faithful servant. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Burial Mass at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, July 07, 2015 at St. Joseph Abbey, 75376 River Road St. Benedict, LA 70457. Visitation on Tuesday, July 07, 2015 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at St. Joseph Abbey. A private burial will take place at a later date.
