He was born February 14, 1933 in Arabi, LA to Joseph Sr. and Jeanne D’Antoni. A Korean War Veteran, he proudly served in the U. S. Marines. Joseph was a natural conversationalist, and had a knack for storytelling. His personality led him to work in the customer service industry most of his life. His passion was vegetable gardening, but his family was his pride and joy. It is said that all that matters on your tombstone is the dash between your birth and death; Joseph’s dash was filled with faith, family, and service to his country. He and Lucy moved to Pearl River after Hurricane Katrina and immediately felt at home, especially at Saints Peter and Paul Church. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Catherine Thibodeaux, Jane Denley and Violet Oracz. Joseph is survived by his wife, Lucy Poche, children, Joseph ‘Scooter’ (Susan), Gary, Larry (Darleen), and Michael (Amy), sisters Antoinette Poitevent and Lelia Norris, grandchildren Lisa (Matt), Randy (Jordan), Josh, Eric, Gabrielle, and Madison, and great-grandchildren Jacob and Andrew and a much loved host of nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend the services at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pearl River, Louisiana on Wednesday, August 19, 2015, visitation from 9:30AM until service time at 11:00AM followed by a ceremony at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project. US Marines ===================
