Doris Macias Bernhard passed away on Monday, September 21, 2015 in Mandeville, 
LA. 
She was born on March 2, 1919 in New Orleans, LA to the late Arthur Macias and 
Vesta Marshall Macias.

Doris was married to her beloved husband, the late George R. Bernhard, for over 
50 years and together they had two sons, Wayne D. Bernhard and Ronald R. 
Bernhard (Adrienne). 
She was the loving grandmother of Brad Bernhard (Shelley), Stacey Bernhard, 
David Bernhard (Sarah), Jeanne Griffith (Billy), Jamie Collins (Jim), and 
Angele McCullough (Kim). She will be missed by numerous great-grandchildren and 
great-great-grandchildren. 

Doris was the sister of the late Cleo M. Bankston.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Liturgy of the Word at E.J. Fielding 
Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Saturday, September 
26, 2015 at 2:00 PM with visitation from 1:00 PM until service time. 

Interment will be held privately at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, Covington, LA. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name of Doris M. Bernhard to 
St. Catherine’s Hospice, or the charity of your choice.
