Amelita was born on October 8, 1917 in New Orleans, LA, where she resided for 88 years. She relocated to the north shore with her daughter Amie due to Hurricane Katrina. Amelita was the daughter of Amelia Priez and Andrew Louis Lukinovich, Sr. In 1949, she was united in marriage to Leroy Stanislaus Cambre at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in New Orleans. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1998. They were married for 49 1/2 years. A woman of deep faith, Amelita was a parishioner of St. Peter Catholic Church in Covington, LA. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters – Amelita Margaret (Amie) Cambre and Marline Cambre Frught; one son-in-law – Lawrence (Larry) Frught; two sisters – Teresa L. Kernion and Carmel L. Brown; one brother – Andrew Louis (Luke) Lukinovich, Jr.; two step granddaughters - Erin Frught and Holly Culver; 5 step great-grandchildren; and many loving and precious nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Amelita was preceded in death by two sisters – Mary Louise (Sr. Mary Amelita, SSND) Lukinovich and Leoda L. Lapre’. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of medical Professionals that cared for Amelita so diligently over her 9 year illness. Especially her PCP - Dr. Craig Seicshnaydre and many thanks also to Dr. Patrick Torcson, both of St. Tammany Hospital; Director of Apex Home Health - Steve Drake; Nurses - Beth Cefalu (6 years), Brandi Talamo, Anne Callender, Dayna Fields and Deborah Roberts; CNA’s - Carol Levatino (6 years), Brittany Magee and Vera Trainor; and Physical Therapist - Heath Villere Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at 12 Noon on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433. Celebrating mass will be Fr. Peter Finney of St. Peter Catholic Church in Covington, LA. Visiting hours will begin Wednesday at 9:00 AM. Interment at Lakelawn Park Mausoleum in New Orleans, LA will immediately follow mass. ===================
