She was born on August 5, 1934 in Jefferson County, MS to the late James Anderson Clanton and Eunice Clanton. Trudy was married to her beloved husband, the late Karl Victor Martin, Sr., for over 50 years. She was the loving mother of Karl V. Martin, Jr.(Carrie), Judy Carol Meyers (Shelby), Gail M. Wells (Elton), Joseph D. Martin, Steven M. Martin (Linda), and Wendy K. Martin. Trudy is the sister of Russell Clanton of Pascagoula, MS. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Karl Martin Sr.; by four sisters, Callie Sullivan, Hattie Bishop, Sarah Hudson, and Mary Margie Scalf; by four brothers, James Clanton, Jr., Alton Clanton, Lenell Clanton, and Terrell “Tuney” Clanton; and by one grandson, Thomas E. Meyers. Trudy is the grandmother of Matthew Pearson, Sarah Meyers Pearson, Shelby Meyers Shaffer, Vinson Meyers, Anna Martin, Henry Martin, Rachel Martin, Elton Wells, Jr., Joshua Wells, Jesse Wells, Emily Wells, Jonathan Wells, Mark Martin, Jennifer Martin Casey, Megan Martin, Tonya Carollo, Brandy Cannon, and Trudy Root. Trudy leaves behind 18 great grandchildren. Trudy grew up in Jefferson County, Mississippi and met her husband-to-be while visiting her sister, Sarah, in New Orleans. Karl and Trudy were married on February 14, 1953. Trudy was a home maker for most of her life. With her husband, she raised their six children in Lacombe, LA, moving to Mandeville in 1978. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mandeville. Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at First Baptist Church of Mandeville, LA on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow the service at Mandeville City Cemetery, Mandeville, LA. ===================
