Aged 97 years, Rita was born on June 8, 1918 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. James Raymond and Euphemia (Schamadan) Dillon. She was united in marriage to Lieutenant William John Rase, Jr. United States Army on June 22, 1946 at St. Cecilia’s Church in Detroit. He preceded her in death on February 21, 1996. They were married for 49 years. Rita was a parishioner of Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Mandeville, LA where she was a volunteer for many years. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter - Noreen Rase of Mandeville, LA; two sons and their spouses - Bill Rase (Debby) of Sulphur, LA and Larry Rase (Lori) of Mandeville, LA; five loving grandchildren and their spouses - Mike Rase (Stacey), Lance Rase (Erika), Christi Browne (Gregg), Billy Rase (Britney) and Adam Aucoin; and 10 great-grandchildren - Shelby, Hadley, Larry and Landry Rase, Abby and Nicholas Rase, and Riley, Sidney, Emily and Rase Browne. In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by three sisters and their spouses - Helen (Henry) Fischer, Patricia (Bob) Oswell, and Mary (Ed) Quinlan; her brother and his spouse - Raymond (Julia) Dillon; one nephew - Joe Dillon; and one niece - Maria Fischer Wilson. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at 3:00 PM on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433. Celebrating mass will be Fr. Ronald Calkins of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Metairie, LA. Visiting hours will begin Thursday at 1:00 PM. Interment at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington, LA will immediately follow mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities of New Orleans ===================
