Husband of Judy Sanders Copeland DeLucca; Father of Pamela Ann “Pam” DeLucca, Nancy Elizabeth “Bean” DeLucca, Vincent Anthony “Vinnie” DeLucca, and Mary Elizabeth “Meme” DeLucca; Step-father of Ronald Glen Copeland Jr (Erin Sullivan); Son of the late Anthony DeLucca and Bernice Dusang; Step-son of Carmello Saglibene; Brother of Nancy DeLucca, Russell Saglibene, and Anthony DeLucca; Also survived by three grandchildren: Eleanor Elizabeth “Ella” Copeland, Ronald Glen “Tripp” Copeland III, and August Jackson Copeland. Mr. DeLucca was a U.S. Army veteran, a graduate of Nichols High School and Delgado Community College, with a degree in electronics He was retired Deputy Chief of the New Orleans Fire Dept, a charter board member of the New Orleans Association of Fire Chiefs, and a former board member of the New Orleans Firemen’s Federal Credit Union. Mr. DeLucca was also a certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser, as well as a former Den Leader and Cubmaster of SMM Cub Scout Pack 365, Slidell, and former Scoutmaster of SMM Boy Scout Troop 365, Slidell. He was a member of the American Legion and a parishioner of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, 61051 Brier Lake Drive, Lacombe, Louisiana, on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at 12:00 noon. Friends are invited to visit at the church on Saturday, beginning at 10:00am. With the heart and bravery of a fireman, Gary lived his life on his terms; no retreat, no surrender. He is remembered for his devotion to God, duty to country, love for family, loyalty to friends, sense of humor, quick wit, and charitable spirit. U.S. Army ===================
