Jeannette Loyd Fussell was born on May 6, 1936 in New Orleans, LA and passed 
away on October 11, 2015 in Slidell where she lived for the past 52 years.

She is survived by her son Brian Fussell (Chris), her daughter Sheila Fussell 
Cusimano (Landon), three stepsons, Michael Fussell, Ricky Fussell, and Dwain 
Fussell, two granddaughters, Rachel Cusimano Williams (Daniel) and Brittney 
Cusimano, step-granddaughters Jennifer Fussell Maschkowski and Syvonne Fussell , 
one great grandchild, Bryce Anthony Williams, five additional step-
grandchildren, and her brother Haywood Loyde.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fenwick Fussell and her parents Felton 
and Corrine McLain Loyd.

Jeannette loved children, and she worked in child care settings until she was 
forced to retire due to her declining health. She ran her own Peter Pan Day Care 
center for a number of years, and later worked for Rainbow Child Care Center 
until her retirement. 
Many children and adults from the Slidell area hugged her and called her “Maw 
Maw” when they would meet her in public settings. Parents and students alike 
always expressed their love to her as their favorite day care teacher. 
She liked to cook, mostly to demonstrate her love by preparing food and sharing 
it with her family, neighbors, and friends.

Friends and family are invited to attend funeral services at Honaker Funeral 
Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell, La, on Thursday, October 15, 2015. 
Visitation is from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm with the celebration of her life 
beginning at 1:00.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s 
Children’s Hospital or the American Heart Association.
