He had a long life and left many friends and family behind. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and the love of his life, his beloved wife and mother of his children Rebecca Hawkins. Ward graduated in 1955 from Fortier High School and after attending LSU for a couple of years he joined and served his country in the United States Marine Corps and also served as a Police Officer. After marrying Rebecca Campbell in 1961 he moved to Hobbs, NM and began his long career in the petroleum Industry. Ward worked for The Western Company for 20 years and 21 years at Cudd Oil in Services and Management. His career took him from New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming and Texas. In 2009 brought him back to Louisiana. Ward is survived by his daughters Kristeva Spruell, and Amber Fisher, their husbands, his two sons, Ward Settoon Hawkins III (Trey), Sgt Major Aubrey Hawkins and their wives. He is blessed to have 14 1/2 grandchildren, 7 great grandchild, 1 great great grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. He has many relatives in the Abita Springs area including his 2 sisters Jo Rizan and Lucy Bagley and their spouses. Ward's other sister Mollie Freeman and brother in law residents of northern New Mexico. Ward also leaves two very special friends Ann Perkins and Peggy Imm also residents of Abita Springs.
