He was born on May 15,1942 in Madisonville, LA to Mamie Edwards and Thomas Earl McGinnis, who preceded him in death. Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Josephine "Joey" Amedio McGinnis along with their four daughters, Laurie M. Weber (Jeff), Debbie M. Robbins (Gene), Jennifer M. Martin (Jason), Allison M. Snow and son, Michael J. Hebert. He is the loving Pops to Blake, Bailey and Evan Weber, Kyrie, Brady, Corey, Carly and Madelyn Robbins, Zachary and Jordan Martin, Ashlyn Drumm and Logan Snow. He is also survived by his sister Carol M. Pope (Michael, Sr.). Tom was born in Madisonville but lived most of his life in Metairie. He attended St. Christopher School, East Jefferson High School and spent four years serving his country in the Air Force. He was an employee of Delta Airlines retiring after 30 years of dedicated employment. Tom was also a member of Our Lady of Divine Providence and St. Ben's Parishes. For the last 19 years he had been residing in Covington, LA. He enjoyed playing the guitar and woodworking. He also loved spending time with family, friends and his fur babies Chloé and Sara. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial mass at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433. Visiting hours on Saturday will begin at 9:30 AM. Interment at the Stanga Cemetery in Bedico, LA will take place privately at a later date. The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to St. Tammany Parish Hospital and Home Health Staff, Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and especially Dr. Farhad Aduli of Louisiana Heart Hospital.
