She moved to New Orleans at the age of 38 from Zweibrucken, Germany and was the wife of the late Harry A Minds, and the daughter of the late Johann and Maria Bischof of Germany. She had been living for the last year at Heritage Manor of Slidell, and prior to that with her only son and survivor, Peter H Bencke (Marian) since 1992. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Troy (Sara) A Bencke, Tina Bencke Quiorga (Joey) and 3 great grandchildren (Caleb, Connor, Briley Bencke). She had one beloved sister Ellen Carlson who preceded her in death, and her niece and Godchild Annamarie Carlson, whom she referred to as “my angel”, both resided in Pensacola, Fl. Annemarie was loved by all she met, and enjoyed attending dinners with Louisiana Goldwing Association Chapter F with her son Peter and daughter in law. Her hobbies included decorating holiday shirts, and crocheting beautiful scarfs and afghans, and preparing German dinners with her family. She was a survivor of war torn Germany before she moved to the US in December of 1959 with her son, and worked as a secretary almost immediately due to her excellent command of the English language. She became a proud US citizen to a country she loved immediately, after being sponsored by the late Hale Boggs. A memorial service will be announced in the near future. Any donations may be made to the Alzheimer foundation in lieu of flowers. D.T. Williams Funeral Home 67525 Hwy 41 Pearl River, LA 70452 in charge of arrangements. ===================
