Merrill Ray Schiro, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at his home in 
Folsom, LA. 

He was born on September 27, 1947 in New Orleans, LA to MaryHelen Williams 
Schiro and the late Anthony Schiro, Jr.

Merrill was married to his beloved wife, Elaine Serpas Schiro, for 50 years and 
together they had three children, Merrill Schiro, Jr. (Nedra), Faith Schiro 
(Clint Sharp), and Dixie Camaille. He was the loving grandfather of Jesse, 
Callie, and Eleanor. Merrill was the brother of Donald Schiro (Ellen), Craig 
Schiro (Sheryl), Anthony Schiro, III (Tara), Troy Schiro and the late Richard 
Schiro (Noel Bitner). 
He will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass at E.J. Fielding Funeral 
Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 
11:00 AM with visitation from 9:00 AM until service time. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name of Merrill R. Schiro, Sr. 
to the American Diabetes Association
