David A. “Rat” Ratliff Sr. passed away on December 8, 2015 in Covington, LA. 

He was born on May 12, 1942 in Columbia, SC to Bettye Cockrill Ratliff and the 
late Milton Ratliff.

Rat was married to his beloved wife, Shirley Guidroz Ratliff, for 7 years. He 
was the loving father of Dawn Heath (Tim), David Ratliff Jr. (Jessica), and the 
late Jeffrey Ratliff. Rat was the proud grandfather of Jennifer Napper (Jeff) 
and the late Glenn Welch, Jr. and great-grandfather of Caleb, Kathryn, Terry 
III, Nicole, Andrew, Kelsey, Keiley, and Timmy. He was the brother of Carmen 
Bledsoe.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at E.J. Fielding 
Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Thursday, December 
10, 2015 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 9:00 AM until service time. 

Interment will follow the service at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Baton Rouge, 
LA. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in the name of David A. “Rat” 
Ratliff Sr. be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital,
