Lena Taylor Seeger passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at her home in 
Covington, LA. 
She was born on June 19, 1924 in Tangipahoa Parish, LA to the late Charles 
Taylor and Nettie Fitzgerald Taylor.

Lena was married to her beloved husband, the late Charles Edward Seeger. She is 
survived by their son, Thomas Marion Seeger, his wife Laurie, her loving 
grandchildren, Thomas Fitzgerald Seeger and Camille Elizabeth Seeger, her 
sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. Lena was the 
sister of the late Herbert Taylor and Edna T. Heath.

Lena grew up in Barker’s Corner. After graduating from Middle Road and Lyon 
High (Covington High), she moved to New Orleans in 1944. “Ms. Lee” worked in 
the Army barracks of Foundation Hospital, now known as Ochsner Foundation 
Hospital, as a microbiology lab tech. During her 43 year career, she also 
offered her home, comfort, and support to her many friends and family that came 
from Covington to the hospital. 
Lena retired and moved back to her family home in Blond “Pull Tight” to be near 
her grandchildren. She was a member of Fitzgerald United Methodist Church and a 
member of the United Methodist Women through which she continued to show her 
love and kindness and to minister to those in need. Lena was an avid gardener 
who loved to share the beauty of her garden and stories of days gone by with 
all who visited.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Service at Fitzgerald United 
Methodist Church, 80007 Fitzgerald Church Road, Covington, LA on Tuesday, 
December 15, 2015 at 10:00 AM. A WAKE will be held the night before the service 
on Monday, December 14, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at E. J. Fielding 
Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA. 
VISITATION will be AT CHURCH on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until service time. 

Interment will follow the service at Fitzgerald Cemetery, McClain Rd., 
Covington, LA.
