Please go to http://usgwarchives.net/la/sttammany/obits/dateobits/2016/st1601.htm and click to view list of photos. ========== Peter Joseph Blanc, Sr., retired Master Plumber, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at his home in Madisonville, LA. Aged 73 years, he was born on Monday, November 16, 1942 in New Orleans, LA to Lucille Ethlyn Pavageau and Leo Rudolph Blanc. The beloved husband Jocelyn Baham Blanc, he is survived by his son - Peter Jr.; one daughter - Shelley Blanc Joseph (Torrence); two grandchildren - Danielle and Devin Joseph; five brothers - Stephen (Phyllis), Tyrone (Veronica), Kirk, Kenneth and Dwyane (Sandra); two sisters - Lois B. Reine (Alden) and Corliss B. Baham (late Renee); a sister-in-law - Cheryl Blanc; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends. Peter grew up in New Orleans but visited his family in Abita Springs on the weekends and summers until he married and made Madisonville his permanent home. A graduate of St. Augustine High School, he finished trade school for welding and plumbing and served in the U.S. Army for 2 years during the Vietnam War. A member of the Local Union #60, he worked as a Master Plumber for American Standard and Kaiser Aluminum for a number of years before becoming self- employed and running Pete’s Plumbing Service with his son Pete, Jr. He loved woodworking and hunting. With his wife Jocelyn, he was a member of the Abita Buck and Bunny club and the Big Pine Creek Hunting Club. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter – Marie Blanc; and two brothers - Kevin and Leo Blanc, Jr. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at 12:00 Noon on Friday, January 15, 2016 at St. Anselm Catholic Church, 306 St. Mary St. Madisonville, LA 70447. Visiting hours at the Church on Friday will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell, LA will immediately follow mass.
