Mother of Diane Boudreau (Dan), Susan Waitz (Tim), James Fowlkes Jr. (Anna), Marilyn Marsanskis (Steve), David Fowlkes (Colleen); Daughter of the late George and Esther Hofmann; Sister of Claire Aselin, Nancy Osborn, Margie Wright, Patty McReynolds, and the late George “Sonny” Hofmann. Grandmother of Danielle Olsen(K. Jordan), Beau Boudreau, Brendan Boudreau, Richard Waitz(Tessia), Jessica Overman(Chad), Ellen Fowlkes, Katie Fowlkes, Victor Marsanskis, Nina Marsanskis, and her angel, the late Jacob Scott Fowlkes. Also survived by four great-grandchildren, Calli Hollenbeck, Beau and Weston Olsen and Dorthy Rose Waitz, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A native of Houston, Texas, and a resident of Slidell since 1970, she was a founding member, and past President Regina Curia of the Legion of Mary at St Margaret Mary Catholic Church, a recipient of the Order of St. Louis Medal, a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Altar Society. Joyce devoted her life to her church, family, and community. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1050 Robert Blvd, Slidell, on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at 11:00am. Friends may visit at the church on Tuesday beginning at 9:00am. Burial will be in St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the caring staff of Slidell Memorial Hospital, and Heritage Manor, for their loving care.
